Almost 200,000 pilots graduated from flight training by the end of the War. These cadets were expected to solo a primary trainer by 6 hours and fly a fighter or bomber into combat with less than 250 hours and 175 landings under their belt. Not impressed... most were teenagers and had never even driven a car before entering the 15 week program!
