The 530031 - Disc - Braking - Rotating 12.7 x 100 was likely the most produced brake rotors (nickname for rotating disc) produced during WWII. In talking with representatives from Goodyear and the original manufacturer who produced these FAA-PMA approved brake parts it is estimated that they produced over 20 million of these rotors from 1940 into the 1960s. Certainly the draftsman, Mr. A.W. Cook who drew the blueprint on February 2nd, 1940, would never imagine that we would be reproducing his design 85 years later to support the WWII airplanes and brake assemblies still flying today.
These rotors once a part in ample supply we are now seeing critical shortages of (there are many stories of them being in such great supply post WWII they were used in lieu of rebar to reinforce concrete). Operators have depleted their stock of New Surplus units and in some cases were measuring their piles of As Removed units, and running rotors near minimum allowed tolerances for thickness. AirCorps listened to concerns voiced in Bomber forums, at Oshkosh, and by owner operators. We are blessed with a talented engineering team and to have forged strong relationships with original manufacturers.

There are provisions in a number of manuals to use 530031 as a replacement for 275709 rotating discs. Please know your airplane and guidelines for proper brake maintenance.
