The 22NA1-054 is a two lug fixed anchor nut of the type used throughout WWII and postwar airframes wherever a screw or bolt has to land on a permanent threaded anchor and the back side of the structure cannot be reached. It rivets to the sheet through two rivet holes, one in each lug, and carries a nylon locking insert that supplies prevailing torque so the fastener will not back out under vibration. Typical use is inspection panels, access doors, fairings, cowling attach points, floorboards and equipment shelves.

ESNA builds this style with either locking insert. 22A1-054 carries the fiber insert and 22NA1-054 carries the nylon insert. The two are dimensionally the same part and are normally interchangeable, so order by whichever number your parts list calls out.
In the ESNA 22 series the 22 prefix denotes cadmium plated carbon steel, A denotes a fiber locking insert and NA denotes a nylon locking insert. The trailing dash number is the thread code, where 62 is 6-32, 82 is 8-32, 02 is 10-32, 048 is 1/4-28, 054 is 5/16-24 and 064 is 3/8-24. A BC suffix indicates 100 degree countersunk rivet holes.
