271-12D is a swivel nipple conforming to MS24588-12, the military standard for reusable hose-to-tube adapter nipples in hydraulic, fuel, and oil lines. The dash -12 designates 3/4 inch tubing OD. The MS24588 nipple mates with MS24587 sockets and MS24590 nuts to form a complete reusable hose end fitting assembly. The swivel nut design allows the connection to be made without twisting the hose.
