Per North American drawing specifications, AirCorps Aviation has performed a magnaflux inspection on available components. This eyebolt is commonly seen in the wing tip area of the P-51 Mustang and is staked with an AN200K4 heavy-duty ball bearing. The 5B9 was most commonly used on B/C Mustangs and was superseded by the 5B14-2 eyebolt on July 2, 1943. Four of these units are used on P-51 Mustangs, located at the outboard and inboard aileron attach points on the wing and wing tip assemblies.
