Located between Station 50 and Station 75 of the wing in each landing gear wheel well. Commonly called "Gear Links" or "Landing Gear Rod Ends," these components require frequent inspection due to a propensity to fail and potentially cause a gear up landing.
AirCorps recommended inspections:
Visually check rod assemblies pre-flight for cracks, bent tube/rod ends, or misaligned Down Indicator Switch Special Bolt
Replace lightweight ATE-6N rod ends with heavier new manufactured rod ends such as the SM6-7A
Magnaflux test rod ends during landing gear maintenance
Inspect thoroughly at each annual inspection
