The spindle lock pin slides in the tail wheel lock pin housing and engages the tail wheel spindle. When engaged, it locks the tail wheel straight for takeoff and landing. When released, the tail wheel swivels for ground handling. The pin is hard chrome plated for wear resistance and has an Oilite bushing pressed into its cross hole.
