The AC811 fitting is the WWII Army Air Corps flared tube connection, used before the AN818/AN819 system became standard. The "T" sleeve slides over the tube and acts as the die the tube end is flared against. The AC811BT8D coupling nut then pulls the sleeve and flare tight against the fitting. Restorers use AC811 sleeves to keep original-style hydraulic, fuel, oil, and instrument plumbing on period aircraft.
