F5S-428S locks by deformed thread rather than a fiber or nylon insert, so there is no insert to age or crack and the part is rated to 450 F instead of the 250 F limit that applies to insert types. The F5S-428S is a Boots wing nut style two lug floating plate nut in 1/4-28. The floating nut element absorbs hole-to-hole misalignment between a panel and its structure.
