The "N" in 22NA14-02 denotes a nylon insert, added by ESNA to replace the earlier fiber-insert 22A14-02, which is prone to cracking with age. AirCorps recommends nylon insert fasteners wherever possible. The 22NA14-02 is a narrow one lug plate nut with a countersunk nut body. The single-lug shape lets it tuck into a tight flange or a narrow web where a two lug plate nut will not fit, while the countersunk body keeps the screw head flush.
