The "N" in 22NA3-02 denotes a nylon insert, added by ESNA to replace the earlier fiber-insert 22A3-02, which is prone to cracking with age. AirCorps recommends nylon insert fasteners wherever possible. The 22NA3-02 is a one lug plate nut with a single rivet hole. It is the smallest footprint anchor nut in the series and is used in non-structural and lightly loaded locations where there is only room for one rivet.
