The nylon locking insert replaced ESNA's earlier fiber insert, which is prone to cracking with age. AirCorps recommends nylon insert fasteners wherever possible. The MS21081-5 is a corner self-locking plate nut with a nonmetallic (nylon) locking insert. The diagonal rivet pattern fits corners and flange radii.
