The nylon locking insert replaced ESNA's earlier fiber insert, which is prone to cracking with age. AirCorps recommends nylon insert fasteners wherever possible. The NA5K3 1/4-28 is a corner capped anchor nut with a high metal cap and a red nylon locking insert. It combines the diagonal rivet pattern that fits corners and flange radii with a cap that shrouds the exposed screw end.
