The nylon locking insert replaced ESNA's earlier fiber insert, which is prone to cracking with age. AirCorps recommends nylon insert fasteners wherever possible. The NA17K3 8-32 is a one lug capped anchor nut with a high metal cap and a red nylon locking insert. The single-lug body fits narrow flanges where a two lug capped nut will not seat, and the cap shrouds the exposed screw end.
